Scarborough Health Network′s Cardiac Program is offering a sponsorship opportunity to Registered Nurses interested in the Cath Lab who are registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing. Selected candidates will be required to attend 12 weeks of Full-Time on-site training. This program is available to new nursing graduates, internationally educated nurses, and staff without their critical care or cardiology certificate. Your customized orientation will take place over 12 weeks and will be followed by a meeting with your educator to ensure that all of your learning goals are met. • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in good standing• Current BCLS• Current ACLS or willingness to participate in the in house ACLS course within the 12 weeks of orientation (if not already certified)• 2 years of experience in Acute Medical or Cardiovascular Nursing or recent related clinical placement experience • Commitment to complete Coronary Care 1 and Coronary Care 2 within one year (if not already completed)• Proven competent IV initiation skill and post-operative monitoring/assessment• Demonstrates initiative and the ability to function both independently and as a multidisciplinary team member in a fast-paced environment• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area• Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation• Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing• Ability to speak another language• Exposure to Lean principles
