Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse patient population within our multi-service environment. The RN is part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team that provides quality care to patients across the entire age spectrum and clinical emergencies. The successful candidate will act as a clinical leader within the department, role modeling the professional standards and competencies of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and SHN′s corporate values of Inclusivity, Courage, Innovation, and Compassion. SHN will invest in successful candidates by funding the enrolment and completion of the Humber Certificate in Emergency Nursing. You will complete the program as part of your on-boarding and orientation period to our Emergency Department.
Requirements:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
Current BCLS certificate
Successful completion of the Humber Certificate Program within 6 months of recruitment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of staff, patients and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills
Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills
Demonstrates excellent ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrates initiative and the ability to function both independently and as a interdisciplinary team member in a fast paced demanding environment
